Mae Dewi Sant wedi rhoi ei siop lyfrau ar dân er mwyn hawlio’r arian yswiriant, cyn sylweddoli nad oes yswiriant gyda fe.

Mae pawb yn syllu ar yr olion yn drist, ac eithrio’r enwog Owain Glyndŵr, sydd yn rhedeg o gwmpas yn esgus bod yn injan tân.

Yna, mae Daf y gath yn sylwi ar rywbeth.

– Beth yw’r rheina? meddai wrth Jeff ei chwaer, wrth i sawl pentwr yn dod allan o’r mwg.

– Sai’mod, meddai Jeff. – Ond ma nhw’n solet dros ben.

Mae Daf yn mynd i edrych yn fanylach. Pentyrrau o lyfrau J. R. Hartley ydyn nhw! Mae’r copïau o “Pysgota Plu” i gyd wedi goroesi’r tân.

– Allen ni iwsio nhw i ailgodi’r siop falle? meddai Daf.

– Am gyfleus, meddai Jeff.

Rebuilding

Saint David has set fire to his bookshop in order to claim the insurance money, before realizing that he doesn’t have any insurance.

Everyone is staring sadly at the remains, except for the famous Owain Glyndŵr, who is running around pretending to be a fire engine.

Then, Dave the cat notices something.

– What are those? she says to her sister Jeff, as several stacks emerge from the smoke.

– Dunno, says Jeff. – But they are extremely solid.

Dave goes to look in more detail. They are stacks of J. R. Hartley’s books! The copies of “Fly Fishing” have all survived the fire.

– Maybe we could use them to rebuild the shop? says Dave.

– How convenient, says Jeff.
